"Briar Creek Township was founded by deed on May 20, 1814. At present, nearly 200 years after it's founding, the township's population is 3,077. Briar Creek Township occupies roughly 20 square miles. The township is of the second class and is governed by a board of supervisors, who are elected by and responsible to the voters of the township. The board consists of five elected members, each serving a six year term with at least one official elected every two years. The board is responsible for all township policies and legislation that govern this community. Also a part of their job is to appoint members to the planning commission, joint sewer authority, and zoning hearing board. The supervisors meet monthly in the municipal building, which was constructed in 2002. The meetings are held the first Monday of each month starting at 7:00 pm. The township office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM." 1

The township is proud to announce the recent addition of a recycling program. The township has come to an agreement with Heaps Container Service to have a dumpster available at the township municipal building for residents to dispose of their recyclables. Residents may view a list of approved recyclables. Appliances may be taken to their location at 338 Jerseytown Road, PO Box 208 Millville PA, 5704586646 for free disposal.
